It's Been Far too Long

I can't believe I've let the blog go for the past month. Once I stopped I really completely stopped. And getting started again is not the easiest. It seems that my hours have been spent, no consumed, with items for which I feel are incredibly important and I've come to the realization that while I have fun writing the blog, it's also quite consuming.

Admittedly, I love seeing people read the blog. I think it's the narcissistic side of me that indulges in this guilty pleasure. But I also like finding out about individuals that get to know a different side of me, or share a common interest and are willing to tell me about it.

Today, after a wonderful 7 - 1 win for my U12 team (soccer for those that may have forgotten), I was approached by a parent that mentioned she'd peeked at this blog. I immediately apologized for the lack of content over the last month but that was not her purpose in declaring her admission of having read it.

This lady had grown up near Carthage, Illinois and told me that she was recently there for a family reunion. She also stated that she had planned on visiting the jail where the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum were martyred but they had run out of time and were unable to do so.

I was excited to share a common interest with this woman and I was so pleased she felt confident enough to share this with me. She had come across my blog as my e-mail signature contains the URL to it (easy PR). How easy is it to introduce others to the interests in our lives by simply writing about what matters to us.

So, I thus promise to continue writing and hopefully update the blog daily with something significant from my life.

I'm Back!
