Dr. Visit: Waiting is a Waste of Time

When will the medical profession make adjustments and become efficient with their time management? Who really wants to show up for an appointment and sit in a waiting room for 30 minutes or more only to be shuffled back to an examine room and wait another 20 - 30 minutes or more. I've had appointments where I've, no joke, waited for 90 minutes in the waiting room alone.
In other service oriented industries such mismanagement of time would indicate an inefficiency that needs to be dealt with by firing or reorganization. Not in the medical field. We as consumers of the service have grown to just accept this deficiency as acceptable.
I am happy to report today that my physician is quite timely, over worked, but nearly on schedule. I sat in the waiting room for only 10 minutes and I'm now in the examine room. While it's still not at an acceptable wait, I've noticed over time they have made improvements. I'm loyal to this clinic mainly because of their care and personal touch. But, if their timely care as
lackened I'd likely look elsewhere.
What are your experiences with health care?
On a side note, my dental office is the most efficient office I've ever visited. I never wait and when show up early I'm in early and out even earlier.
